State by state, the U.S. is considering the question of medical marijuana. Supporters tout the array of diagnoses medical marijuana supposedly remedies, from anxiety to glaucoma. Others question if the evidence backs these claims.
From the workers’ compensation perspective, medical marijuana is particularly murky territory. How are therapeutic users differentiated from recreational users? How is impairment measured? How does marijuana interact with the array of drugs that might already be prescribed to a worker who suffers from chronic pain?
