At Paradigm, National Nurses Week, May 6-12, is a meaningful time to recognize the nurses who make our work—and our outcomes—possible. For 2026, the American Nurses Association (ANA) is celebrating The Power of Nurses™—at Paradigm, we’re proud to build on that message with our own theme: The Power of Paradigm Nurses.
This year’s celebration promises to be a special one. In honor of the 130th anniversary of the ANA and the 250th anniversary of our nation, cities around the United States will be lighting up skylines, landmarks, and participating hospitals to show their support. The association will also host a special webinar, The Economic Value of Nurses, to showcase the dynamic, value-generating impact of this irreplaceable profession on the healthcare industry.
Powering positive recoveries
To help promote the recognition this critical field so richly deserves, we’re pleased to share a few of the many examples of the compassion and support that Paradigm nurses give to injured workers, families, partners, and everyone they interact with. Whether working behind the scenes or on the frontlines, our amazing nurses prove time and again that they are the best at what they do.
Watch for quote testimonials below from patients and other stakeholders honoring additional Paradigm nurses.
Allison Veloso, RN, Case Manager
While assisting an injured worker who had sustained a complex upper extremity limb loss injury, Allison displayed exceptional teamwork and compassion in helping reach a positive outcome. Although prosthetic oversight was not initially planned as part of the case, Allison clearly and effectively explained why it would be critical. As a result, Paradigm was able to take a person-focused team approach that enabled the injured worker to successfully receive a prosthesis. Expressing his appreciation for Allison’s collaboration, Jan Saunders, Paradigm Clinical Director, Prosthetics, CPO, LPO, shared, “I truly feel fortunate to have worked alongside Allison on this file, and I am very grateful for her dedication, professionalism, and teamwork.”

Veronica Weaver, RN, MSN, WCCM, Case Manager
After her work on an exceptionally complex case, a client reached out to highlight the positive impact Veronica made on the recovery while navigating multiple legal and medical challenges.
By expediting appropriate treatment, consistently applying her clinical expertise, and advocating strongly for evidence-based medicine, she kept the trajectory moving ahead. According to Veronica’s supervisor, “Her thoughtful approach, persistence, and deep knowledge helped move the case forward in a way that truly mattered.”
Nichole Maybay, RN, Network Manager
Some of the most meaningful moments in our work are when we hear directly from injured workers and their families. When we learn how a nurse’s guidance and steady support made a real difference during a challenging time, it reinforces the importance of what we do and the true impact of our nurses. Following the closure of a case, an injured worker and his wife shared this note of appreciation for Nichole’s partnership:
“It has been a pleasure having you help us through this challenging time. We were so fortunate to have you. You made everything so much easier to deal with—you addressed everything promptly and followed up on everything. You took a lot of stress off of our shoulders, and we can’t tell you enough how much that helped our mental state. Thank you for that. You also came up with great suggestions to share with the doctors on issues they couldn’t resolve, and they followed through with them. Please keep doing the great work that you do, as it does matter.” — Injured worker and spouse

Recognizing the power of our Special Projects Unit (SPU) team
National Nurses Week is also a chance to recognize the teams who support our work behind the scenes—ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with guidelines so that our frontline teams can stay focused on injured workers and outcomes. Our SPU team plays an essential role in that effort, serving as a trusted internal resource and partner to case managers in the field.
As one Case Manager shared in a recent note of appreciation, the SPU team helps “ensure we have it right before release,” offering clarity, responsiveness, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way—especially on complex files. Whether walking through report details, answering questions, or collaborating to resolve exceptions, the SPU team’s professionalism and open communication make a meaningful difference day to day.
A special thank-you to:
Your expertise, partnership, and steady support are instrumental to the work we do at Paradigm—and a powerful reminder that nursing impact happens both on the frontlines and behind the scenes.
