National Case Management Week: Innovating, Advocating, Celebrating

Paradigm is thrilled to recognize our unparalleled Case Managers, Network Managers, and support staff once again during National Case Management Week. Taking place October 12-18 in 2025, this annual observance recognizes the essential work of the case management profession and the vital impact its members make every day. At Paradigm, our ability to support the recovery of injured workers and their families is intrinsically linked to the dedication, compassion, and expansive skill sets of our case management teams.

With its theme of “Innovate. Advocate. Celebrate,” this year’s event goes right to the heart of the resourcefulness and determination Paradigm Case Managers and Network Managers display on a consistent basis. Case Managers are truly the lifeblood of this organization. Through meaningful connections and a commitment to ethical and operational best practices, our amazing professionals help people overcome life-changing injuries.

National Case Management Week may only be seven days on the calendar, but the advocacy and guidance our Case Managers provide deserve celebration every single day. This week, join us in offering our deepest thanks to everyone in this irreplaceable line of work for exemplifying the spirit of the workers’ compensation and healthcare industries.

Celebrating our exceptional case management teams
In the wake of a serious injury, Case Managers help people navigate an often complex and isolating care environment so they can recover and return to their lives. To demonstrate the tremendous positive difference our case management professionals make here at Paradigm, we’re proud to share the following messages of appreciation from colleagues, clients, and injured workers:

Stephanie Fairbanks, Telephonic Case Manager (TCM)
Two of our Paradigm leaders sang Stephanie’s praises: “Stephanie, thank you for stepping up and assisting the Special Programs Unit team with audits! Not only do you show dedication and ownership in your TCM role, but you are also always willing to help coworkers and take on other challenges outside of your dedicated role. You are a go-to within our team as well as in our organization, when additional resources are needed. We appreciate all your time, flexibility, and dedication as you have navigated through different challenges that have come your way! You went the extra mile to deliver impeccable work. Thank you for leading by example and contributing to the overall success of Paradigm. We’re grateful to have you with us and truly appreciate all you do for us!”

Penny Cochran, Case Manager
It’s a true privilege to support the injured workers entrusted to us, and when they take the time to share their appreciation, it’s especially meaningful. Case Manager Penny Cochran received a lovely handwritten letter from one of her injured workers praising her assistance. They shared the following: “Ms. Cochran, Thank you for your wonderful assistance throughout this foreign journey of mine—a prolonged workers’ compensation claim! Your intimate knowledge of the entire process and the variety of players involved has been invaluable to me! You are a wealth of knowledge of the local resources available, and the ‘hoops’ which must be navigated and satisfied to dot all the ‘I’s and cross all the ‘Ts! Again, you have been an immense help to me, and I am so glad and feel lucky to have had you as my Case Manager!”

Team Paradigm
Tom McLaughlin, Sr. Director, Case Management Western Region, provided another example of how we are a united team—always advocating for our injured workers. Tania Scott, Manager, Case Management, Western Region, brought forth a concern for an Arizona firefighter who was hospitalized in Honolulu, Hawaii. The team worked with Jessica Kuslich, Manager Clinical Case Management Network. She was able to arrange a Network Manager to do an on-site visit, support the injured worker, and provide the client with the current medical status and coordinate medical transport back to Phoenix. All of this happened in less than 24 hours. This was an amazing example of the power of collaboration.

Sandra Lemaire, Case Manager and Network Manager
Jo Carter, BSN, RN, CCM, Vice President, Clinical Resource Operations, was truly wowed by Sandra Lemaire, BSN, RN, Case Manager and Network Manager, who rose to the challenge in a big way on a complex case. “I want to acknowledge and sincerely thank Sandra Lemaire for her exceptional professionalism and compassion while working with one of our most challenging cases. Her ability to remain patient, empathetic, and respectful in every interaction—while still fostering a positive and trusting relationship—speaks volumes about her dedication and skill. Sandra models what it means to provide not just excellent case management services, but truly human-centered care, even under difficult circumstances. Her value to our customer, injured worker and Paradigm team is immeasurable. Thanks for being so fantastic, Sandra!”

Melissa Teninty, Network Manager
Congratulations to Melissa Teninty, Network Manager, our 2025 Excellence in Ethical Practice award winner! Each year, we celebrate the exceptional commitment to ethical practice in case management with this award, signifying a deep dedication to principles such as autonomy, beneficence, fidelity, justice, and veracity as outlined in the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) Code for Professional Conduct. Melissa was nominated for this award due to the excellent care management she provides, both from a medical and emotional standpoint.

Claire Vera, Network Manager
Our Network Managers go above and beyond every day, and this praise for Network Manager Claire Vera is just one of those examples. “I wanted to highlight Claire Vera for going above and beyond with her advocacy and support for her injured worker (IW). This gentleman moved to Georgia to live with a friend, which fell through. He was from another country, completely alone and did not speak the language. He found himself in an area that he did not know with a new amputation and no support.

“Claire coordinated to have an interpreter and helped him get set up with his bank account. She assisted him with buying groceries, even locating a market with his native food options. She located temporary housing within walking distance to food and shops and even showed him where and how to do his laundry until an occupational therapist was arranged. This IW built an immediate trust with Claire, and this was important as his anxiety was high.

“She advocated for the prosthetic company to assign a peer supporter and followed up until they did. She also stayed on top of appointments so that the IW would have everything he needed prior to leaving the country. She enlisted the support of the Paradigm Management Team’s Community Support Specialist. I think that without Claire’s consistency, compassion, and knowledge, this IW might have had a different outcome.”

Appreciating an extraordinary profession
To the Case Managers, Network Managers, and support staff at Paradigm—and everywhere—thank you again for your service, hard work, dedication, and unwavering compassion. The heartfelt words and testimonials above are just a drop in the wellspring of deep appreciation from everyone whose life has been touched by a Case Manager.
