Join Nancy Mann, MD, Paradigm Medical Director, as she shares her insights on concussions and mild traumatic brain injuries. A concussion is a mild brain injury with numerous subjective neurological symptoms and pain, which is why it can often be a complicated diagnosis. In this presentation, Dr. Mann will help define the terms “concussion,” “mild brain injury,” and “post-concussion syndrome” (PCS). She will review the epidemiology of these disorders, including major causes and prognoses, and will help identify other conditions that often accompany concussion and mild traumatic brain injury—making diagnosis and treatment challenging. In addition, Dr. Mann will cover the management strategies that lead to the best outcomes for injured workers with concussion and mild traumatic brain injury.
