Claims Examiner

We are currently looking for the right candidate to fill a Claims Examiner position.  This person will be someone who works with accuracy and likes a fast paced team environment. 

This position is fulltime, benefited and will work in our Walnut Creek, CA office. 

All Paradigm positions are subject to a pre- and post-employment background check.

This position holds accountability for accurate and timely processing and payment of considerably difficult bills to include pre-coding, data entry and adjudication of medical bills/claims.  Other administrative tasks are outlined in the full description. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • AA Degree or equivalent college course work; successful completion of continuing education in insurance, medical terminology/coding, and/or accounting.

  • Five years of claims or bill review experience. 

  • Intermediate computer experience on Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook required.

  • Typing speed of 60 WPM and 10-key experience

  • Knowledge of ICD-10; CPT; Revenue Code; RVS; U&C; Fee Schedule; RBRVS; DRG; HCPCS & other coding schemes preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent oral communication skills and phone presence

  • Ability to effectively present information to providers as well as to employees of the organization.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Consulting (RN) Nurse Case Managers

We pride ourselves on the relationships built between our nurses and the injured workers.  Nationwide opportunities available.

Conduct on site assessments for catastrophically injured individuals, gather data and initiate case management process.  Establish relationships and maintains communications with patients, families, providers, Paradigm’s carrier clients and employers. Participate in all patient related conferences with the Paradigm Management Team and assist with development of Paradigm contract. Complete accurate and timely written reports in accordance with Paradigm documentation standards and Best Practices.

Active RN license; valid driver’s license; CCM, CRRN or other approved certification and exceptional communication skills.

Must clear criminal background check.

Document Administrator / Proofreader

Paradigm is looking for a Document Administrator/Proofreader.  This position is fulltime benefited and will work in the Walnut Creek office. 

All Paradigm positions are subject to a pre- and post employement background check.

This position holds accountability for operational document administration including:  effectively producing, editing, tracking, managing, and coordinating the reviews of all clinical patient contracts and reports to meet established Paradigm quality standards including timeliness, writing quality, and conforming to Paradigm’s intended ideologies.


  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Three years or greater experience in proofreading. 

  • Excellent skills in grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and the ability to express ideas concisely and cogently.

  • Acute attention to detail.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Word, and proficiency in Excel and Outlook.

  • Must demonstrate an ongoing willingness to learn new word processing and database management programs.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
