Associate Clinical Director

Paradigm is looking for the right candidate to fill an Associate Clinical Director opening.  This position is fulltime, benefited and can work from the candidates’ current location or in Walnut Creek, CA office.  Minimal travel required.

The Associate Clinical Director, (ACD) functions as a member of the virtual team to assist with the development and management of Outcome Plan and Complex Large Loss Plan contracts.  The ACD works collaboratively with the designated Paradigm Management Teams to assist with contract development activities and to provide routine oversight of the clinical and financial performance of Paradigm contracts to ensure the successful achievement of the targeted clinical and financial outcomes.  Along with the Directors of Clinical Services, the Associate Clinical Director will focus on meeting established key performance indicators and timeframes in order to achieve a high level of carrier/client satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field.A professional degree in a healthcare related field with a Master’s degree in business or health services administration is preferable.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in clinical administration management, preferably with knowledge in medical/surgical and rehabilitative treatment settings.Experience with healthcare pricing, data analysis, budget development, and clinical management are critical.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to present to audiences of varying levels of expertise, difference in configuration Including size, level of expertise andclinical and educational backgrounds.

  • Advanced ability to analyze complex situations, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid and substantiated conclusions.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership in the management of virtual trans disciplinary teams to meet the targeted contractual obligations.

Billing Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Billing Coordinator.  This position is responsible for the timely and accurate administration of to-be reimbursed medical related bills (Contract Recoveries) owed to Paradigm from our clients.  This customer-facing position includes reviewing underlying transactions, creating reimbursement requests and collecting outstanding amounts from our portfolio of clients.   Additionally, this position assists the Accounts Receivable Specialist with certain customer billings and will serve as the primary backup for the Accounts receivable Process.

This is a full time position and will work in our Walnut Creek Office.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education - High school diploma or equivalent.  Completion or enrollment in introductory college level accounting courses strongly recommended.  Active pursuit of Accounting or Insurance Administrative certifications or degree a strong plus.

  • Minimum two years billing experience in billing or related administrative responsibilities.  Collection experience required.

  • Experience with Workers Comp or other Property and Casualty insurance claims is highly preferred, but not required. 

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Consulting (RN) Nurse Case Managers

We pride ourselves on the relationships built between our nurses and the injured workers.  Nationwide opportunities available.

Conduct on site assessments for catastrophically injured individuals, gather data and initiate case management process.  Establish relationships and maintains communications with patients, families, providers, Paradigm’s carrier clients and employers. Participate in all patient related conferences with the Paradigm Management Team and assist with development of Paradigm contract. Complete accurate and timely written reports in accordance with Paradigm documentation standards and Best Practices.

Active RN license; valid driver’s license; CCM, CRRN or other approved certification and exceptional communication skills.

Director, Clinical Services

Paradigm is looking for a Director, Clinical Services.  This is a full time position and can be here in our Walnut Creek Office or work remotely.

Summary:

The Director, Clinical Services  for the pain program provides management leadership for chronic pain referrals.  A successful Director of Clinical Services works collaboratively with the Paradigm Medical Director, Network Manager, Director of Key Accounts,  as well as medical consultants and the internal administrative team to develop outcome focused management plans to ensure the successful achievement of targeted clinical and functional outcomes. 

The Director is accountable for providing Paradigm Management Team oversight to ensure that the care coordination actions necessary to meet the contract specific outcomes are in place with timely re-evaluation of status, a high level of injured worker and carrier/client satisfaction, application of necessary care management best practices and overall financial performance of the individual case contracts. 

Responsibilities:  (include but are not limited to)

  • Direct and work collaboratively with Paradigm Management Team (PMT); utilizing Paradigm data, data tools and systems to establish case specific management plans and contracts.

  • Direct the contract and management intervention development process and sign off on the final case specific plans.

  • Manage the communication with the carrier/client to facilitate pain management plan sign off and ongoing satisfaction.

  • Represent carrier/client interests in collaborative, injury management team conferences.

  • Work with the (PMT) to make appropriate modifications to the management plan based upon expected to actual results.  Provide management leadership, direction and oversight for the ongoing issues of the case to achieve expected results, and ultimately to complete Paradigm’s obligation to the case.

  • Through experience on cases, contribute to the ongoing product improvement.

  • Assist in the design of information management systems used to support the above responsibilities.

  • Maintain knowledge and general awareness of trends, standards and current events relative to medical economics in the workers’ compensation and the health care industry.

  • Participate in the conceptual development and implementation of new products as designated by the VP, Operations and the President.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Education - Master’s degree preferred or bachelor’s degree with extensive experience in a healthcare related field.  A professional degree in a healthcare related field with a masters degree in business or health services administration is preferable.

Director of Product Development

Paradigm is looking for a Director of Product Development to play a key role in creating the processes, tools and relationships necessary to enable the company’s expansion into new healthcare markets.  This is a full time position working in our Walnut Creek Office, with the potential to work virtually.  There will be some travel required for this position.

Summary

Working closely with the VP of Product Development, the Director of Product Development will be responsible translating Paradigm’s new product and market initiatives into reality.   Success in this newly created position requires someone with a passion for tackling the challenges facing our current healthcare system and the ability to work simultaneously on multiple levels – to engage in strategic, big picture thinking; analytical, structured problem solving; and nuts and bolts operational design. 

 

Responsibilities:  (include but are not limited to)

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business drivers for the target market segments and monitor and refine critical market assumptions and implications for product development.
  • Assist in shaping a complex case management solution for the general healthcare market (commercial, Medicaid, Medicare).

  • Create processes, tools and financial models to support new offerings, working closely with internal and customer staff.
  • Prototype initial service offerings, including workflows, reports, communication approaches to test in pilot projects.
  • Manage pilot projects to test and evolve solution features and processes, from concept to implementation and measurement.
  • Develop and test methods of measuring and evaluating the value of new offerings, working closely with Paradigm’s internal and external analytics experts.

The successful candidate will have:

  • BA/BS in Liberal Arts, Business, Healthcare or other related field required.

  • MA/MS in Business, Healthcare or other related field preferred.

  • Passionate about the goal of improve the healthcare experience in the US.

  • 7+ years’ experience in product development/management, consulting or operations, with most or all of this experience in the commercial and/or government-sponsored health services sector. 

  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing new solutions in the health services sector, preferably with a focus on accountable care, alternative payment models, population health and/or complex and post-acute care.

  • Deep understanding of commercial and government-sponsored health insurance and delivery.

  • Intellectual curiosity and an ability to view old problems with a fresh perspective; an entrepreneurial mindset geared toward the creation, execution and continuous improvement of a new care management model. 

  • Demonstrated experience translating requirements into scalable process designs and prototypes, including workflows, job designs, communication and reporting tools, etc.

  • Ability to create actionable information from clinical and financial data.  Can conceive and work with new approaches to measuring value related to care management solutions.  Knowledge of health plan data and analytics structures, and experience with healthcare economics, value measurement and/or population analytics, strongly preferred.

  • Excellent project management skills including demonstrates success in guiding projects from concept to implementation and measurement.

  • Effective collaboration skills, including the ability to work with payer, provider and internal staff across organizational levels and settings.

  • Superior written and oral communication skills; able to tell a clear story with data and develop clean, effective presentations.

  • Strong capability using Microsoft Office (specifically: Word, PowerPoint and Excel). Skills with project management software and Visio are preferred.

 

Medical Records Document Coordinator

Paradigm Outcomes has an immediate need for a fulltime Medical Records Document Coordinator.  This position will work out of our our Walnut Creek Office.

This position holds accountability for accurate and timely entry of detailed medical record information into Paradigm’s Enterprise Content Library (ECL) indexing system. The duties of this position include: data entry of medical record information to include indexing by injured worker and categorizing by appropriate record type; entering correspondence and medical bills in the Kwiktag scanning system; liaison between departments regarding system issues with ECL; and tracking and reporting production, downtime, issues and trends. Other projects may be assigned.

Experience/Skills:

  • High School diploma and/or equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of continuing education in insurance, medical terminology/coding preferred.
  • One year claims and/or bill review experience.
  • One year reviewing and indexing medical records highly desired.
  • One year customer service experience required.

RN Field Case Manager in Chicago Area

This position performs onsite field case management functions of assessment, planning, implementation and facilitation while working with an internal interdisciplinary team and working collaboratively with treatment providers.  Candidate must be able to travel 65% of the time to regional destinations in order to carry out the onsite case management function.

Position Requirements:

  • Two plus years’ experience in catastrophic injury/illness case management to include onsite case management experience, with preference for experience in the Worker’s Compensation arena.
  • Candidates will have case management or clinical experience with management of acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma (including amputation), burns and chronic pain syndromes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with effective written and oral communication skills, strong self-initiative and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse License required.

Technical Writer and Trainer

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Technical Writer and Trainer to join our team. This is a full time position and will work out of our Walnut Creek office.

This position participates in, and conducts technical training programs, determines training objectives and writes training programs using MadCap software.  This includes creating outlines, text, handouts, and tests and designs hands-on exercises.

The Technical Writer/Trainer is responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of training and online help documentation for Paradigm Management Services proprietary software applications using MadCap software. This position also writes, records, and publishes video tutorials for new and existing application features and training environments. This position will collaborate with internal departments and cross-functional teams ensure that the documentation and online help include all the necessary information and are deployed successfully.

Essential Job Functions: (but not limited to)

  • Research, gather, analyse, translate, and compose technical information into clear, accurate, readable training and help documents using MadCap Flare.

  • Complete a variety of writing and editing assignments of increasing complexity to support training and help documentation.

  • Develop user-friendly documentation that can be used by individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge.

  • Research changes to documentation and update existing documents, as required.

  • Adhere to corporate writing style guide.

  • Ensures training deadlines are met and produces on-time project deliverables
