ROBERT FAHLMAN ANNOUNCES PARADIGM HERO THOMAS ECKEL

CONCORD, CA, February 20, 2008 – Paradigm Management Services, the nation’s leader in providing catastrophic and complex medical management services has named Thomas Eckel a “Paradigm Hero”.

Thomas Eckel was driving home from work one evening when he was hit head on in a near fatal automobile accident.  Thomas sustained a severe head trauma resulting in a coma and brain injury.  Paradigm Nurse Case Manager Dorothee Custer was assigned to Thomas’ case.  She immediately began working with the family, hospital physicians and Paradigm’s specialized catastrophic care management team to develop his rehabilitation plan.  Thomas’ road to recovery was difficult and required many months of rehabilitation.     Paradigm’s Management Team coordinated Thomas’ transfer to the Shepherd Center, in Atlanta, Georgia for his specialized brain injury rehabilitation treatment as soon as he was medically stable. After discharge from Shepherd Paradigm coordinated Thomas’ participation in the community re-entry program at HealthSouth, The Bridge, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  These programs provided Thomas the strategies necessary to compensate for his residual disability.  He was able to return to work.    Thomas received a promotion  several months after returning to work as an Application Engineer at Volvo Penta and has since returned to his favorite hobbies boating and sport fishing.  Thomas has been instrumental in assisting other catastrophically injured persons by providing them with hope, inspiration and guidance in a time of need and uncertainty.  Thomas is an active volunteer within his community and  “Without Paradigm and our Paradigm nurse, Dorothee Custer, I wouldn’t be where I am today – back to my life and back to work” states Thomas Eckel.

“Thomas’ willingness to volunteer assisting other catastrophically injured persons and their families are qualities that make Thomas an exemplary role model.  His phenomenal recovery and charitable contributions helping others in need are values that are aligned with our company and what makes him our Paradigm Hero” states Robert Fahlman, Chief Executive Officer of Paradigm.
