Amputations / Loss of a body part

Paradigm is prepared to meet the complex and immediate needs of injured workers suffering from a traumatic amputation of a body part (arms, hands, legs, and feet).   Typically these injuries require immediate hospitalization and surgery and cause significant life changes for the injured worker and his/her family.

The medical care when one loses a body part   is a multifaceted process that may require a wide range of services and specialists. There are many challenges to treating this complex medical condition that can cause  recovery to be delayed.  Many patients that suffer a traumatic amputation undergo inpatient and or outpatient rehabilitation at a convenient facility with skilled and knowledgeable staff.  The goals of rehabilitation therapy are to increase the patient’s level of function for everyday tasks such dressing, walking, bathing, and grooming etc. In many cases, use of a prosthesis is recommended by the treating doctor and is a part of the rehabilitation program.

Paradigm's team of medical experts will help your nurse case manager  find the most appropriate treatment to get you on the road to recovery.  Your nurse case manager will meet with you and your family to make this happen.  When you have questions or concerns, please contact your nurse for assistance.
